Did Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett's Heisman Trophy Candidacy End Against Indiana?
Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett struggled against Indiana on Saturday, and many believe his Heisman Trophy chances took a major hit as a result.
Ohio State signal-caller J.T. Barrett led his team to a win over Indiana on Saturday, but it's no secret that the Buckeyes struggled on offense much of the day. Barrett was effective running the ball - finishing with 25 carries for 133 yards and a score. But through the air, he looked off, finishing just 8-of-20 for 91 yards with an interception and a late touchdown after the game was in-hand.
Fans took notice, too. Most believe that despite the win, his Heisman Trophy candidacy took a major hit.
Obviously, we're still only five games into the season. Barrett will have a number of opportunities to show voters what he can do. But he likely lost some ground to some of the other top players in the race this week.
