Kirk Herbstreit Addresses Accusation That He's A "Homer" For Ohio State

Kirk Herbstreit took on another Twitter troll on Tuesday night.

ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit, the undeniable star of College GameDay, gets a lot of flak from fans who think that he's biased towards his alma mater, Ohio State, and the league it plays in, the Big Ten. Tuesday, responding to a fan on Twitter, he addressed the topic.

Herbstreit essentially says it's possible for him to both be a homer for Ohio State and be objective when covering its football program. It's a concept that many fans seem to struggle with.

Herbstreit's tweet actually came in response to an earlier post about the school's basketball program.

Herbstreit played quarterback at Ohio State from 1989 to 1993, and landed a job with ESPN back in 1995. While he's one of the most popular personalities at the Worldwide Leader, he's also one who gets a great deal of criticism - from virtually every fan base.

Herbstreit often engages with fans on Twitter. This isn't the first time he's taken on trolls on social media either.

Somehow, we don't think this will quiet fans of, say, Michigan, on the topic.
