Lane Kiffin and Florida Atlantic will start the 2019 season with a tough matchup against Ohio State. It's not ideal for the program's record, but there are benefits to facing 'Power Five' teams.

Although the Owls will have their hands full when they play the Buckeyes, Kiffin is looking toward the positive side of going on the road to meet the reigning Big Ten champs.

During the interview with Andy Slater, Kiffin was asked what the benefit was of playing Ohio State to start the season.

"Uhh, money," Kiffin said. "You go there and they pay you a lot to go play there. It's fun for our players to be able to play at a place like that. To play against Ohio State on national TV is exciting."

Kiffin isn't a stranger to cracking jokes, and the tone of his response was quite playful.

You can hear part of his interview here:

According to Eleven Warriors, Ohio State is paying Florida Atlantic $1.4 million for this upcoming matchup.

It'll be an early afternoon showdown, as the two teams will be ready to go at 12 p.m. ET from Ohio Stadium.

Kiffin joked about fans showing up late to the game due to the early kickoff time.

We'll see if Lane Kiffin can keep his team close against Ohio State.
