Five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers stunned the college football world today by announcing he will join Ohio State for the upcoming 2021 season instead of waiting until 2022. Among the many to give him praise for the move is Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Taking to Twitter a short while ago, the 2018 NFL MVP wished Ewers luck in his college move. He added that he looks forward to seeing him play at the pro level too.
“Good luck big dawg! Looking forward to seeing you at the next level!” Mahomes wrote, adding a flexed arm emoji.
Ewers was ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect in the Class of 2022 by 247Sports. But in joining the Buckeyes now, he can potentially enter the NFL as early as 2024 – he’ll be only 21 by then.

Despite joining the Buckeyes as a highly-touted prospect, Quinn Ewers is joining the team a bit late in the summer to have a real shot at starting early in the 2021 season.
He may wind up riding the bench the entire season or getting just a little bit of work in spot duty.
One thing is for sure: Ewers is eager to get his college football career underway. Whether or not it works out the way he intends remains to be seen.
But while many have been critical of Ewers’ move, he has support from some of the biggest names in sports now.
