An Ohio State assistant is reportedly expected to be a contender for the FAU job.
Florida Atlantic fired its head coach this morning and, according to multiple reports, Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Luke Fickell is expected to be a contender for the job.
ESPN's Adam Rittenberg notes that Fickell worked with FAU athletic director Pat Chun when he was at Ohio State.
Expect Ohio State defensive coordinator Luke Fickell to be a top candidate at Florida Atlantic. Fickell worked with FAU athletic director Pat Chun at Ohio State. This job should attract a lot of interest, and I could see Michigan co-offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch also getting involved.
Fickell, 43, has been on Ohio State's staff since 2002. He was the Buckeyes' interim head coach in 2011 prior to Urban Meyer's hiring.
