David Long Jr., the cornerback whose tree Jim Harbaugh climbed, has been committed to Michigan for about a week.

Thursday night, he got his first taste of the rivalry with Ohio State.

An innocent tweet from Long sparked a fiery back-and-forth on Twitter between his future teammate, Jourdan Lewis, and former Ohio State wide receiver Michael Thomas. You can read about that here

Long was caught in the middle of the firing, attempting to just observe it as a bystander. Ohio State fans weren't having it, though. Long's mentions were filled with angry tweets from Buckeye fans; he was trending on Twitter in Columbus for a little while, too.

Now he really knows how passionate college football's greatest rivalry is. And he loves it.

Stay out of his mentions, though, Ohio State fans.

Long will get his first taste of The Game next November.

Ohio State and Michigan are set to play in Columbus on Nov. 26.
