College football continues to grow as one of the most popular sports in the United States. As the popularity around college football increases, the revenue generated by each program does as well.
Even though programs can go through rough patches – Tennessee and Florida State are an example of that – the football culture established at certain schools is unbreakable.
Alabama and Clemson are the two best programs in the country, but neither school is the most valuable.
Sports business insider Darren Rovell shared a Forbes graphic that lists the top 25 teams in the country based on three-year revenue averages. The vertical columns in the graphic go from $20MM to $40MM to $60MM to $80MM to $100MM to $120MM to $140MM to $160MM.
It turns out that Texas A&M is the most valuable in the country with Texas coming in as a close second.
Here is the top 25:

Half the teams inside the top 10 are from the SEC. That’s not too surprising when you consider how important football is to each program from that conference.
Every school on this list is from the ‘Power Five’ conferences with the exception of Notre Dame.
Out of all the teams on this list from Forbes, the most shocking ranking is that Clemson is toward the bottom. Despite having arguably the best program in college football, the school hasn’t generated as much revenue as others.
