Selection: New York Giants select Ohio State CB Eli Apple.

Analysis: This is a surprising pick. Apple was a surefire first-rounder but not regarded as a top-10 pick, but the Giants took a shot on him.

Apple is long, athletic and a tremendous worker. There's no pressure for him to start right away with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Janoris Jenkins, but he's going to need to be able to contribute early.
