Ohio State and Michigan State are set to square off this weekend in a game that will have a major impact on the Big Ten East race. The Buckeyes are heavy favorites, but the Spartansalready beat rival Michigan on the road this year as underdogs.
As it goes with any big game, emotions will be running high. Today, Ohio State sophomore cornerback Eli Apple told reporters that MSU players have a penchant for being chatty on the field, and the Buckeyes love to respond when they do.
"There is gonna be a lot of talking out there," Apple said. "It was like that last year. They love to talk and we love to respond back to people when they talk, for sure.
"Our thing is we are gonna just have to play our game, be very, very calm out there and locked it to our assignments and what we have to do. You can't let all the outside stuff get to our heads and try to get too fired up because once you get too fired up you start playing out of character and you can't do that."
Game on. As far as trash talk goes, this is pretty innocent stuff, but we expect things will be kicked up a notch when the pads come on Saturday.
Ohio State and Michigan State will kick-off at 3:30 PM EST Saturday on ABC. ESPN's College GameDay will be in Columbus for the game.
