Earlier this week, in an interview with Ari Wasserman of The Athletic, Michigan 2021 quarterback J.J. McCarthy said that he now “hates” Ohio State – despite the fact that he grew up rooting for the Buckeyes. The comment, predictably, brought out some interesting responses from Buckeyes – past, present and future.
Another high school player – Paris Johnson Jr., who is a five-star offensive tackle committed to Ohio State – had a strong response to McCarthy’s words. It was a shot at last year’s Michigan team.
Johnson joked that McCarthy’s crusade against the Buckeyes should be dubbed “Revenge Tour: Part 2.”
Last year, Michigan’s players came up with the idea of a “revenge tour” against the teams they lost to in 2017. It was going well until they ran into the Buckeyes in the last game of the regular season. The Wolverines were blown out 62-39.
After the game, plenty of Ohio State fans and players mocked the “revenge tour.”

We weren’t too worried about the future of the Ohio State vs. Michigan rivalry. But this ensures it isn’t going to drop off in the post-Urban Meyer era.
This year’s contest will take place on November 30.
