The Ohio State-Michigan rivalry never stops. Even during the offseason, it manages to spark up, this time thanks to quotes from a Michigan quarterback commit.

In an interview with The Athletic's Ari Wasserman, Michigan 2021 quarterback commit J.J. McCarthy isn't shy about his new distaste for the Buckeyes. You see, McCarthy grew up liking OSU, but now he "hates" them.

His reasons stem from how his recruitment played out, and feeling like Ohio State head coach Ryan Day was less than honest with him. You can read the full story and see all of McCarthy's comments in the link below, which is behind a paywall.

It turns out Ohio State linebacker Teradja Mitchell saw McCarthy's quotes. He even responded to them on Twitter.

Things like this are a why this rivalry stays fresh. The recruiting battles between the two programs are a major part of the adversarial relationship they have with each other.

The series has been famously one-sided of late. Ohio State has won the last seven matchups and 14 of the last 15.

Jim Harbaugh has not beaten the Buckeyes in four tries. He'll have another shot at them in the regular season finale in Ann Arbor in November.
