Ohio State has consistently been one of the most talented teams in the country. The number of Buckeyes selected in the NFL Draft bears that out.

Ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft, FOX College Football took a look at the total results dating back to 2000. 10 schools have had 85 or more players selected in total over the last 20 years. Unsurprisingly, four of the 10 come from the SEC.

Ohio State stands above the rest, though. Alabama is the No. 2 team, with 118 draftees total. The Buckeyes are the clear No. 1 with 131 draftees since 2000.

The Buckeyes program has always been a power, but Urban Meyer really elevated the talent level in Columbus. Ohio State regularly landed top recruiting classes under the legendary coach, and that success translated to the NFL. The team had nine players taken just last year, with a pair of first rounders in Nick Bosa and Dwayne Haskins.

31 Buckeyes have been first round picks in this time frame. 2016 was a high-water mark for the team, with 12 total draftees, all in the first four rounds, and five first-round picks. The upcoming 2020 NFL Draft should be another strong one for the program. Chase Young, Jeff Okudah, and J.K. Dobbins are among the potential first round picks for the school. Young will almost definitely go top five, and Okudah may very well wind up in that range as well. The 2020 NFL Draft is scheduled for April 23 to April 25. Las Vegas was set to host the event, but it doesn't sound like it will go on as anticipated given the current global health crisis. Instead, the league is reportedly prepping for some sort of remote option. [
