There's a new No. 1.

There's a new No. 1 recruiting class in the nation. After 247Sports and Rivals updated their recruiting rankings, the class rankings have changed as well.

Georgia owned the top spot earlier in the week before 247Sports and Rivals made their updates. Now Ohio State sits at the top of the rankings.

The Buckeyes not only have the best overall class, they also have the best averaging ranking for each recruit. In fact, that average ranking is the highest in the history of 247Sports' rankings.

Georgia slides to No. 2 despite owning commitments from six 5-star recruits, the most of any team in college football. Here are the top ten recruiting classes in the country.

  1. Ohio State
  2. Georgia
  3. Texas
  4. Penn State
  5. Miami
  6. Alabama
  7. Oklahoma
  8. Clemson
  9. Auburn
  10. Notre Dame

Ohio State landed a star defensive end recruit on Friday to push it to No. 1. Tyler Friday, a 4-star recruit, joined the Buckeyes' elite class over the weekend.

Alabama, currently sixth, should land a few more recruits, but likely won't make a push for the No. 1 spot. It will mark the first time since 2007 that the Tide didn't land the No. 1 class in the nation.
