Ohio State is believed to be the favorite to land Georgia five-star freshman quarterback Justin Fields, who's expected to depart the Bulldogs' program following the Sugar Bowl.

Fields has a connection to Ohio State, as he shares a personal quarterback coach with star Buckeyes' QB Dwayne Haskins.

Haskins revealed to reporters at the Rose Bowl that he's spoken with Fields.

“He’s a great kid," Haskins said, per 247Sports.

"He hit me up earlier. He’s just waiting to see what I do. I try to be positive and help as many people as I can. You know, Justin is going through something right now.”

Haskins is a big fan of the former five-star recruit, who was ranked the No. 1 dual-threat prospect coming out of high school.

Ohio State also has Tate Martell waiting in the wings. Martell appeared to send a "stay away" message to Fields on Twitter earlier this month.

Oklahoma and Florida State are also believed to be in contention for Fields.

Stay tuned.
