If Ryan Day is half as good at coach as he is at recruiting, then Ohio State’s opponents had better watch out. The Buckeyes just landed yet another highly-touted recruit and have seen a big change in their rankings.
On Tuesday, Ohio State secured a commitment from 2020 four-star safety Lathan Ransom. In doing so, 247Sports bumped up their national ranking to No. 2 in the country – behind only Clemson.
Ransom is a huge pickup for the Buckeyes regardless of how it affects their rankings.
He is the No. 76 overall prospect in the nation, per 247Sports. He is the No. 4 safety in the country, and the No. 5 prospect from the state of Arizona.

The addition of Ransom gives Ohio State 21 total recruits for 2020 – fourth-most in the Big Ten.
Headlining the class are a pair of five-star offensive players – offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr. and wide receiver Julian Fleming.
It’s a stellar job so far for the first-year full-time head coach of the Buckeyes. And the Class of 2021 is currently doing pretty well too with four recruits and a five-star recruit.
Ohio State’s Class of 2019 was largely recruited by former head coach Urban Meyer.
Will this Ohio State Class of 2020 be one of their best ever?
