Ohio State Should Jump Alabama For The No. 1 Recruiting Class In 2017 Later Today

2017 college football team rankings based on 2017 recruiting composition.

Team Rankings

Alabama leapt Ohio State in the team rankings for the 2017 recruiting class on Thursday.

The Crimson Tide received a commitment from a long-snapper out of Florida, propelling Nick Saban's team into the No. 1 spot for '17, dropping the Buckeyes to No. 2.

This shouldn't last very long, though.

Expect Ohio State to be back in the No. 1 spot by the end of the day.

Why?

The Buckeyes are widely expected to land a commitment from five-star offensive lineman Wyatt Davis, who will be making his decision later today.

Davis, a 6-foot-5, 310-pound prospect out of California, is the No. 1 offensive guard in the country.Ohio State currently trails Alabama in the rankings by less than one point and Davis' commitment would easily propel the Buckeyes past the Crimson Tide.

Davis is set to make his announcement at 6 p.m. E.T.
