Ohio State Still No. 1 In Latest Coaches' Poll

Coaches Poll shows numbers 4 through 8.

Coaches Poll Ohio State Still No 1

The first weekend of college football is officially in the books. What did we learn? Well, Ohio State, despite looking a bit shaky in the first half against Virginia Tech, is going to be very difficult to beat, given the plethora of weapons it has at its disposal. But a number of other top squads - including Alabama, Notre Dame, UCLA, Florida State and Texas A&M - may give the Buckeyes a run for their money this year.

Only three teams ranked in last week's Coaches' Poll - No. 15 Arizona State, No. 20 Wisconsin and No. 21 Stanford - lost this past weekend. Both the Sun Devils and the Cardinal were left out of the rankings this week.

In the latest Coaches' Poll, released Tuesday afternoon, Ohio State remained the No. 1-ranked team in the country, notching all but one of the first place votes. The Buckeyes are followed by Alabama, TCU, Baylor and Oregon. Utah and Texas A&M are the only two teams to enter the poll.
