Ohio State To Sell Beer Stadium-Wide Starting In 2016

Going to an Ohio State game this fall? You may not need to tailgate for quite as long this time around.

Wednesday, the school announced two new policies for Ohio Stadium. First, bags larger than 5x8x1 will no longer be permitted in the stadium. Second, beer sales will now be available stadium-wide. You can guess which new rule fans are excited about.

In 2015, beer was available for people in the suite or club levels of the stadium. Now, it's available to all fans.

Where will the money go? To two new positions in the Ohio State Police Department.

The revenue generated by alcohol sales at Ohio Stadium will be used to fund two new full-time positions in the Ohio State Police Department at an annual cost of about $300,000. These new positions will be utilized year-round by campus police and are not specifically just for game day security.

Ohio State's first contest this year comes against Bowling Green on September 3.
