Ohio State vs. Virginia Tech – Game Time, TV Schedule, Line, Preview, Predictions

There aren't very many games that stand to be competitive this upcoming Saturday, but Ohio State vs. Virginia Tech is one of them. The Buckeyes, who recently lost quarterback Braxton Miller for the season, will give J.T. Barrett his second consecutive start against the Hokies, who are coming off of an easy victory over William & Mary.

The Buckeyes struggled a bit against Navy, but eventually pulled away for a 34-17 victory. Things probably won't be as easy this weekend.

TV Channel: ESPN

Location: Ohio Stadium (Columbus, OH)

Betting Line: Ohio State -11 via 5Dimes

Prediction: This won't come as a surprise, but this one will probably come down to quarterback play. Virginia Tech started Michael Brewer, who transferred in from Texas Tech, against William & Mary in its first game. Brewer turned in a solid performance, completing 23 of 30 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns. But William & Mary is not Ohio State.

Ohio State appeared to want to ease Barrett into his starting role. Against Navy, the Buckeyes attempted 15 passes and ran the ball 40 times. It's highly unlikely that such a ratio will work against a team like Virginia Tech.

Top to bottom, Ohio State is the better team here, but that doesn't mean the Hokies can't pull an upset (especially with some 'Beamer Ball' special teams action). We'll take the Buckeyes to win the game, but Virginia Tech to cover the 11-point spread.
