Ohio State WR Chris Olave teased a potential number change on Twitter on Monday afternoon. That tease has been confirmed as Olave announced he’ll be changing his number from No. 17 to No. 2 for the 2020 season.
Running back J.K. Dobbins wore the prestigious No. 2 over the past three years with the Buckeyes. Dobbins tore it up during his Ohio State career, rushing for 4,459 yards and 21 touchdowns in a historic collegiate career. Now, Olave is set to once again make the No. 2 look good.
The Buckeye receiver teased an upcoming number change on Monday, tweeting, “I’ll miss you #17.. time to move on.” Olave then confirmed the number change and announced, “Wearing #2 next year.” Buckeye Nation is without-a-doubt excited about the change.
Olave is set to be a major piece of the Ohio State offense next season. QB Justin Fields returns to lead an explosive attack, and Olave’s set to be star receiver of the offense. The junior Buckeye is certainly hoping to put up big numbers in his new No. 2 uniform.

If Olave can have the success Dobbins had while donning No. 2, the Buckeyes are in for a big season in 2020.
