With months to go before the college football season, some early betting lines have started to come out. Most of the Week 1 slate is available, well before teams even break camp.
Among them is Ohio State’s opener against FAU. The Conference USA side may be a bit more intriguing than your average bodybag Week 1 Group of Five opponent.
The Owls are just a season removed from an incredible first year under Lane Kiffin. In 2017, the team went 11-3, and a perfect 8-0 in conference play. They came back to the pack in a big way, going 5-7.
The team has brought in some major transfers and has plenty of talent. That doesn’t mean they’re ready to test the Buckeyes in Columbus though.
Internet sportsbook BetOnline.ag has opened the line at Ohio State -26 against visitor FAU.
Clearly the odds maker isn’t concerned with it being Ryan Day’s first game as the full-time head coach.

With how well the Buckeyes acquitted themselves under Day last year, during Urban Meyer’s suspension to start the year, it makes sense there is plenty of confidence in the team in this spot though. The real questions will come down the road, for games against the likes of Michigan, Michigan State, and Penn State.
Ohio State-FAU will kick off at noon on August 31.
