Pat Forde: "No Way" Sean Miller Leaves Arizona For Ohio State
The Arizona head coach is surely on the Buckeyes' "wish list."
Ohio State's men's basketball program is currently searching for a head coach.
Will that coaching search include Arizona's Sean Miller?
Almost definitely.
Miller, 48, grew up in Pennsylvania and has ties to Ohio. He was an assistant at Xavier from 2001-04 and the Musketeers' head coach from 04-09. Now, he's one of the best coaches in the country, constantly bringing elite recruits to Arizona and taking the Wildcats deep into the NCAA Tournament (not deep enough yet, though).
So he's going to get a call from Gene Smith and maybe he'll even take a meeting.
Will he be leaving Arizona for Ohio State, though?
Yahoo! Sports' Pat Forde says "no way."
Specifically, it’s not Miller Time in Columbus. Archie Miller, a former Matta assistant at Ohio State who was long believed to covet the Ohio State job, left Dayton for Big Ten rival Indiana. And there’s no way Archie’s brother, Sean – another former Matta assistant – will leave likely preseason No. 1 Arizona. (Not now and probably not ever, given the very different status of basketball at Arizona vs. basketball at Ohio State.)
Miller would be a tremendous fit in Columbus, but it's unfortunately not going to happen, Buckeye fans.
(Probably.)
