Report: Curtis Samuel To Make NFL Debut On Thursday Night

A former Buckeye is set to make his debut.

Curtis Samuel's camp was shut down early with a strained hamstring, and he's yet to play n a preseason game.

That will come to an end on Thursday when the Carolina Panthers take on the Jacksonville Jaguars.

According to Bill Voth of Panthers.com, Samuel took first-team reps this week to get ready for the game.

From the report:

The second-round pick began slowly increasing his workload over the past couple of weeks, and when he returned to team drills Monday, he joined the No. 1 offense for a handful of snaps.

While most of the starters will play into the second half Thursday night, the plan is different for Newton and Samuel.

"We wouldn't take the guys that are coming back and expect them to play all the way into the third quarter," Rivera said after Tuesday's practice.

Samuel was exciting at the collegiate level, and we can't wait to see what he and fellow spark-plug Christian McCaffrey can do on the field together.
