Report: Ohio State RB Curtis Samuel Underwent Surgery This Morning

Ohio State running back Curtis Samuel underwent surgery on his foot this morning, according to a report by Bucknuts

Samuel, a rising junior, is expected to be the Buckeyes' replacement for Ezekiel Elliott in the backfield in 2016. 

According to the report, Samuel injured his toe in the Fiesta Bowl against Notre Dame and could miss all of spring practice. He posted "Surgery went well today!" on his Facebook page.

Missing all of spring ball would be a big blow to Samuel, who's expected to take big strides this offseason and become a focal point of Urban Meyer's offense next fall. 

Samuel, a 5-foot-11, 196-pound tailback, totaled 132 rushing yards and one touchdown this past season. He had 22 receptions for 289 yards and two touchdowns.
