Earlier: Ohio State will be without four of its top players for its opening game against Virginia Tech.
The Buckeyes announced this afternoon that defensive end Joey Bosa, wide receiver Jalin Marshall, wide receiver Corey Smith and running back Dontre Wilson have been suspended for the opening contest against the Hokies.
The news was first reported by the Columbus Dispatch and later confirmed by OSU.

Ohio State and Virginia Tech are set to meet Sept. 7 in Blacksburg, Va. The Buckeyes’ lone loss of the 2014 season came to the Hokies.
