As we enter another week in COVID-19 lockdown, coaches and athletes are doing their best to serve as strong voices for those who are struggling to cope. In a new message for Buckeye Nation, Ryan Day offered some mental health tips for people struggling through tough times.
Day’s tips included getting fresh air outside (while observing social distancing), staying healthy, exercising, and eating healthy. He also gave a tip that he said he often gives to his team which he called “win the moment.” Day explained that it’s best to focus on the present rather than getting anxious about the future.
For people who take medication, Day advised continuing to do so regularly. He also advised anyone who knows someone taking medication to check up on them.
His final piece of advice was to stay connected and stay sociable as much as possible.

The COVID-19 pandemic is requiring larger and larger restrictions by the day. More and more people are being isolated to their homes in an effort to keep others from getting infected.
It’s nice to get a good pep talk from one of the best coaches in college football. If even one person is affected positively by his message, it’s a job well done.
