Steve Spurrier Says SEC Fans "Rightfully" Upset With Ohio State's Easy Schedule

South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier has made some enemies over the years, given his tendency to be overly honest with the media about how he feels. Monday, he may have added another team's fan base to the list.

On today's edition of The Paul Finebaum Show, Spurrier took a mini-shot at Ohio State, telling listeners that he thinks that SEC fans can "rightfully" be upset about the Buckeyes' schedule. He also brought up Texas A&M's schedule from a few years back.

Via Saturday Down South:

“Every now and then when I listen in to your show, I know the SEC fans are a little upset at Ohio State’s schedule and rightfully so to tell you the truth,” Spurrier said. “But that’s just the way it is and how it works out for all of us. I remember several years ago, Texas A&M had four gimme games outside the conference, then eight conference games.

“There’s four of us that have that in-state rivalry games from another conference. We’ve got a pretty tough schedule.”

You can listen to Spurrier's interview here. The schedule talk begins around the 6-minute mark.

If you're wondering, Ohio State's schedule features eight Big Ten games (which aren't negotiable) and contests against Virginia Tech, Hawaii, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan.

According to ESPN's FPI, Ohio State has the 52nd-hardest schedule in the country. South Carolina? No. 2.
