Steve Spurrier loves to talk. Today, at South Carolina's Media Day, the Old Ball Coach did what he does best: said something funny while simultaneously taking a shot at another person, team or conference. Spurrier's target today was the Big Ten, namely the lower-tier teams in the conference. While he didn't point any teams out specifically, Spurrier compared East Carolina -- who the Gamecocks face on September 6 -- to "bottom tier Big Ten teams." In Spurrier's eyes, the Pirates are better than some of the bad teams in the conference.
Spurrier may have a point, as ECU went 10-3 last year and is expected to have a solid 2014 campaign. Unfortunately, ECU doesn't have any Big Teams on its schedule this year, so we'll never truly know how it stacks up.
