Thad Matta Issues Stern Message In Response To Multiple Players Transferring

Ohio State basketball coach Thad Matta and his staff have had a trying few months, as a number of the team's freshmen decided to transfer after just one year with the program. Since the 2015-2016 campaign ended, three players - Daniel Giddens, Mickey Mitchell and A.J. Harris - have all decided to leave the school. Austin Grandstaff also left this past December.

Thursday, Matta, at a charity golf outing, issued a strong statement in response. ThisWeek Sports captured the footage.

Here's a transciption of Matta's statement, for those interested.

"We were going through a transition where we lost three guys, and I will say after the Florida game this year, I told our guys two things after the game. I said "No. 1, I'm tired of the BS. I'm going back to coaching basketball. I'm going back to running this program the way we did when we got here. The second thing is some of you are going to transfer and you don't know it yet. Whatever you do, don't come see me. Just shoot me a text because I'm tired of looking at you." We got rid of some guys who we needed to get rid of. We got rid of problems and we kept solutions."

Ohio State struggled this past season, finishing with just a 21-14 record an an NIT appearance.
