With the regular season just about to begin for programs around the country, it's time to look toward this year's Heisman Trophy favorites. As usual, the quarterback position is heavily favored to win the hardware.

Last year, Kyler Murray edged out Dwayne Haskins and Tua Tagovailoa to win the Heisman Trophy. Now that two of those candidates are in the NFL, the door has opened for Alabama's star quarterback.

In fact, Tagovailoa is tied for the best odds to win the Heisman Trophy. He shares the same odds as Clemson gunslinger Trevor Lawrence, who is widely considered as the best pro-style quarterback.

Although it's not surprising to see Tagovailoa and Lawrence share the best odds, the rest of the candidates in the top 10 are somewhat surprising.

Nebraska's Adrian Martinez has better odds than notable quarterbacks like Jalen Hurts and Sam Ehlinger.

Here are the top 10 candidates to win the Heisman Trophy, via 247Sports:

Tua Tagovailoa - 3/1

Trevor Lawrence - 3/1

Adrian Martinez - 10/1

Justin Fields - 12/1

Jalen Hurts - 12/1

Jake Fromm - 18/1

Sam Ehlinger - 20/1

Justin Herbert - 20/1

Shea Patterson - 20/1

Jonathan Taylor - 40/1

The only player on this list that isn't a quarterback is Jonathan Taylor. In his first two years at Wisconsin he's shattered several records, and it's possible he'll break more this year.

Who do you believe should be the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy?
