The Cowboys Are Signing Mike Nugent With Dan Bailey Injured

The former Ohio State standout has a new NFL home.

The Dallas Cowboys have their replacement for Dan Bailey.

With the All-Pro kicker sidelined for a couple of weeks with a groin injury, the Cowboys have reportedly signed Mike Nugent.

The former Ohio State star was one of three kickers the Cowboys worked out today.

From ESPN:

The Cowboys will sign veteran kicker Mike Nugent after working out three kickers on Tuesday. With Dan Bailey looking at missing at least a couple of weeks with a groin injury, Nugent won a competition with Jason Myers and Sam Irwin-Hill.

Nugent, one of the greatest kickers in college football history, was a second-round pick coming out of college. He's spent most of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals but got released at the end of the 2016 season. The two-time All-American spent some time with the Giants earlier this year.
