Today Is An Interesting Day In Ohio State Football History

People think Ohio State was eliminated from playoff after 2014 Virginia Tech loss.

Ohio State fans, three years ago today, probably thought all hope was lost for their season.

In 2014, Ohio State went on an incredible run to a national title despite losing not only starting quarterback Braxton Miller before the season but backup J.T. Barrett against Michigan in the team's final regular season game. We all remember how third-string signal-caller Cardale Jones beat Wisconsin, Alabama and Oregon in his first three starts.

Well, today, September 6, is the day that Ohio State lost to Virginia Tech in its second game of the season. It's also the day that many college football experts proclaimed the Buckeyes were out of title contention.

Ohio State takes on Oklahoma this Saturday, and while Buckeyes fans surely want a victory, it's important to remember that you never know how a full season is going to play out.
