Torrance Gibson was suspended for the fall semester Monday morning. WTOL-11's Jordan Strack has more on the school's reasoning.
Monday morning, Ohio State announced that redshirt freshman wide receiver Torrance Gibson has been suspended for the entire fall semester for a violation of the University's student code of conduct. We also learned that head coach Urban Meyer doesn't agree with the school's decision.
Now, via WTOL-11's Jordan Strack, we've got more on the school's reasoning. According to Strack, a former female tutor of Gibson's claimed she was harassed. The football program is apparently "adamant" that Gibson did nothing wrong.
It's interesting to see the football program taking such a hard stance on Gibson's actions - whatever they were. Most of the time, in these kinds of situation, staff members are reluctant to make bold statements.
Regardless, it looks like Gibson will not play this year. No word on whether there will be further potential punishment issued by the school.
