Urban Meyer Critical Of Cardale Jones, Says QB Wasn't "Fundamentally Sound"

Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones showed improvement this past Saturday, finishing 19-of-33 for 288 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. But Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer thinks that his signal-caller could have had an even better day.

Monday, Meyer, during his weekly press conference, told reporters that Jones wasn't "fundamentally sound" throwing the deep ball against Western Michigan. Jones underthrew a number of receivers during the contest.

At this point, Meyer seems committed to Jones as the starter, but he certainly realizes that he's going to need to work with him to make him as efficient as possible. It'll be important as Ohio State plays better competition down the stretch.
