Urban Meyer Disagrees With Suspension Of Ohio State WR Torrance Gibson

Ohio State redshirt freshman Torrance Gibson is suspended for the 2016 season.

The Buckeyes announced this morning that Gibson, a freshman wide receiver, will not be playing this fall.

Ohio State's release about the suspension said Gibson is suspended due to a violation of the university's student code of conduct.

Urban Meyer commented on Gibson's suspension during his weekly press conference today.

The Buckeyes' coach couldn't say much, but he did say he disagrees with the suspension.

Meyer said it "wasn't athletic department or football related, and I disagree with it." Meyer also said he's dealt with suspensions like this before.

Gibson was a four-star recruit in the 2015 class and arrived in Columbus as a quarterback but has since made the move to wide receiver.

Ohio State opens its 2016 season on Saturday against Bowling Green. The game is set to kick off at noon on BTN.
