Earlier this week, Miami (OH) head football coach Chuck Martin made a comment about the team's upcoming game against Ohio State that took some in the college football world by surprise.

When asked going up against the Buckeyes, Martin said "it’s like going to recess and they get the first 85 picks."

He's not wrong, but it's an interesting comment from the head coach - one his players have likely heard by now.

Former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer isn't a fan of Martin's approach to the game.

During a segment on the Big Ten Network Thursday afternoon, Meyer called out Martin for his comments and made it clear that's not the kind of message he should send before the game.

Here's what he said, via Saturday Tradition:

"I don’t know if I agree with making a public statement like that, whether you believe it or not. You don’t have to beat Ohio State, what you have to do is win a bunch of individual battles and hang in there in a game like that."

Ohio State enters the game as a 39.5-point favorite - and it might not end up being that close.

The Buckeyes and RedHawks kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Big Ten Network.
