Ohio State football came into today's edition of The Game as a slight underdog at home against rival Michigan. Urban Meyer's team answered the challenge in a huge way, hanging 62 points on one of college football's best defenses.

It has been a trying year for Meyer in particular, who was suspended to start the season after the Zach Smith scandal.

Gus Johnson mentioned how difficult the year has been for Meyer and company often during the game, something that drew plenty of criticism. Among those was former ESPN commentator Jemele Hill, who reminded her followers that Meyer was not the victim in that whole scandal.

Urban Meyer was very emotional after the Ohio State win, and it was clear during his press conference.

After the game, he gave a lot of credit to the impressive showing by the Ohio State fans during the game.

During the presser, Meyer's family came up, and he got choked up while speaking about them.

Ohio State advances to face Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship. With the win, and one next week, Ohio State's College Football Playoff hopes remain alive.

The Buckeyes are 11-1, with the lone loss coming to Purdue earlier this year, along with a few other rough performances. A blowout rivalry win against the No. 4 team in the country solves a lot of woes, though.
