Everyone is giving their last-minute Super Bowl predictions, and former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer is no exception.
Sports Illustrated caught up with several football stars, including Meyer and Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper, to get their thoughts on the Super Bowl LIII outcome.
So who does Meyer predict will hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy at the end of the night?
The New England Patriots.
“I’m going (with) the Patriots in a very close game. I don’t know (what) the score (will be),” Meyer said.

While three Buckeyes are playing in the Super Bowl, only one of Meyer’s former charges will be playing in the Super Bowl today – defensive end John Simon, who will be suiting up for New England. Defender Nate Ebner (New England) and long snapper Jacob McQuaid (Atlanta) both graduated prior to his arrival at Ohio State.
Despite interest from many NFL teams in his services over the year, Meyer ultimately snubbed all NFL offers and instead stayed in college for his entire career before retiring from Ohio State at the end of the 2018 season.
He is one of only a handful of coaches to win three or more national championships, and in an even more exclusive club of coaches who won national titles with two different programs.
Enjoy the game, coach.
