The Ryan Day era is just about to begin at Ohio State, as the former offensive coordinator is now taking over as the head coach. He'll have large shoes to fill due to the departure of Urban Meyer.
Meyer's decision to retire might not be as crucial of a blow as many expected because of Day. Throughout the 2018 season, the Buckeyes did an excellent job of grooming him for this position.
On Saturday, the 40-year-old coach will have his first chance to show he's a worthy successor to Meyer.
Before Ohio State gets ready to face Florida Atlantic, Meyer conducted an interview with Day for FOX Sports. The full interview won't be aired until this weekend, but a preview of it was just released.
The main question that Meyer asked Day was how he feels when he walks into Ohio Stadium.
"First off, my heart starts pumping," Day told Meyer. "You think back on all the great players and great coaches that have been here before. The great games that have been played here at the Horseshoe just make you realize it's such a responsibility when you step in here."

Ohio State will try to make the College Football Playoff after missing out the past two years.
Day is going to deal with a ton of pressure, but he seems ready for the challenge. As for his team, we'll find out if they're also prepared for this season when Week 1 begins later this week.
