Urban Meyer, Nick Saban Talked About Rekindling Their Past Rivalry In Anticipation Of Sugar Bowl Matchup

On Jan. 1, 2015, two of college football's flagship programs will meet with a spot in the national championship game on the line.

No. 1 Alabama (12-1) and No. 4 Ohio State (12-1) will square off in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, with the winner set to face the victor of the College Football Playoff's other semifinal - No. 2 Oregon vs. No. 3 Florida State.

The meeting of the Crimson Tide and the Buckeyes means one of college football's best coaching rivalries will be rekindled, as Nick Saban and Urban Meyer - arguably the country's two best program leaders - will battle for the first time since 2010.

Today, Saban and Meyer talked about their relationship.

For the sake of the game, it'd be nice if the talk was a bit more heated.

The duo has met three times, all of which came while Meyer was at Florida. Meyer won in 2008 in the SEC Championship Game, while Saban won the rematch in 2009 and led the Crimson Tide to a blowout victory in 2010. An Ohio State victory would give both coaches two wins against each other.
