Ohio State won an insane 52-51 shootout over Maryland in overtime today, staying alive in the conference title and College Football Playoff races. Next week's rivalry game against Michigan will decide the Big Ten East.
The Buckeyes could certainly use Mike Weber in that one. The junior running back didn't play today in what was a curious absence.
There was no indication beforehand that Weber was hurt or being punished. But OSU's second-leading rusher didn't play a down.
After the game, Urban Meyer clarified what happened with Weber. He is dealing with a quad injury.
J.K. Dobbins, who rushed for 203 yards and a touchdown on 37 carries with Weber out of the lineup, said he knew before the game he was going to need to have an increased workload.
Weber's health will be something to monitor this week leading up to "The Game" next Saturday.
Ohio State could really use both he and Dobbins against Michigan's stout defense.
