No Ryan Day, no problem. The Ohio State Buckeyes took care of business on Saturday afternoon, dismantling the Michigan State Spartans on the road without their head coach on the sidelines.
Day was unable to be with his team this weekend since he recently tested positive for COVID-19. Additionally, the Buckeyes were missing three of their starting offensive linemen.
Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields led the charge, as he finished the game with 199 passing yards, 104 rushing yards and four total touchdowns. He also had some help on the ground from Trey Sermon and Master Teague.
It was such an impressive performance that Urban Meyer couldn’t help but celebrate the win on Twitter. Following the dominant victory in East Lansing, the former Ohio State head coach tweeted “Best thing about
Best thing about 5-0…

There were some questions about Ohio State and whether it’s truly a dominant team. It’s safe to say any doubt about this team was put to rest this afternoon.
Michigan State actually had its head coach and an overall healthier team, but that didn’t matter. The overall talent on Ohio State’s roster can just suffocate its opponents when it’s playing at a high level.
Next up on the schedule for Ohio State is a date with Michigan, however, the game might not happen because of COVID-19 issues in Ann Arbor.
Whether or not the Buckeyes play next weekend against the Wolverines, it’s clear they deserve a chance to compete for a Big Ten title.
