The Sugar Bowl will not be the first time Ohio State coach Urban Meyer will take on Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide in a postseason contest. In 2008 and 2009, Meyer's Florida Gators took on the Tide in consecutive SEC championship games. The Gators won in 2008, while Alabama won in 2009. Both contests were matchups between the top two teams in the country, and the team that was ranked No. 2 won both times.
Today, Meyer told members of the media that he still remembers every snap of both games between the Gators and the Crimson Tide.
Meyer is one of the most intelligent and competitive coaches in the country, but it's still impressive that he remembers every snap of two games that were more than five years ago.
The Sugar Bowl will take place on Jan. 1, 2015. The game will kick off from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans at 8:30 P.M. EST, and you can watch it on ESPN.
