Urban Meyer Says He Counts Cam Newton As A Product Of His Offense When Recruiting Players
Urban Meyer might be as good of a quarterback recruiter as anyone in the country.
The Ohio State coach landed Tim Tebow and Cam Newton in back-to-back classes at Florida. He landed John Brantley, a top-50, four-star quarterback in Newton's class, too.
In Columbus, he's brought in J.T. Barrett and appears to be on the cusp of landing Torrance Gibson, one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the 2015 class.
When talking to quarterback recruits, Meyer apparently claims Newton, who left Florida amid a controversy before ever playing any truly meaningful snaps, to be a "product of his offense."

It's definitely a stretch. Newton should probably be considered a product of Gus Malzahn's offense considering that's the offense he won a national championship and Heisman in.
Meyer did recruit and convince Newton to play for him, though, so he probably should be able to brag about that a little bit when recruiting high school QBs.
