Urban Meyer Says That Redshirt Freshman QB J.T. Barrett Is "Guitonish"

While the news that Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller will miss the entire 2014 season with a shoulder injury is obviously terrible for the Buckeyes, there are a few silver linings. One is that Miller's replacement, redshirt freshman J.T. Barrett, has been working with the first team offense all offseason while Miller was recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, so he has an idea of how to run the offense. Another is that Barrett reportedly reminds Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer of former OSU quarterback Kenny Guiton, as Meyer called Barrett "Guitonish" today.

Guiton backed up Miller last year, and received major playing time in three games after Miller went down with a knee injury. Guiton went 75-for-109 (68.8 percent) last season for 749 yards with 14 touchdowns and two sacks. If all goes right for Ohio State, maybe Barrett will be that efficient and give the Buckeyes a shot at making the College Football Playoff.
