Urban Meyer hyped up Michigan offensive coordinator, Tim Drevno, for FAU head coaching spot in order to weaken the Wolverines.
Husband. Father. National championship winning coach...International man of mystery?
According to FootballScoop, Urban Meyer pushed to get Tim Drevno hired as the new head coach of Florida Atlantic. That in an of itself is not interesting, but it becomes interesting when Meyer's reasoning becomes apparent. So why did Meyer try to get Drevno hired?
To hurt the Wolverines.
That sounds a lot like Meyer is being accused of espionage. A behind-the-scenes attempt to weaken your biggest rival? Could it really be true?
As a source said to FootballScoop, “Drevno is being pushed by Urban Meyer as a means of weakening Michigan.” Meyer and Florida Atlantic AD Pat Chun were colleagues for a brief time at Ohio State before Chun left for FAU. Chun and FAU also hosted a Buckeyes satellite camp last summer.
Unfortunately for Meyer, Lane Kiffin was hired as the head coach of FAU early Monday morning.
