Urban Meyer Won't Address This Topic Before The Big 10 Title Game

Ohio State heads into the Big Ten Championship Game against Northwestern needing a win - and probably a big one - to secure a College Football Playoff berth.

Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes will be sure to not look ahead of their Big Ten Championship Game opponent, though.

The Ohio State head coach said today that all of his team's focus will be on beating Northwestern and winning a Big Ten Championship.

There will be no thought of needing to blow out the Wildcats and impress the College Football Playoff selection committee.

This is the right line of thinking, of course. Northwestern is a capable team and one that certainly could give the Buckeyes problems if Meyer's players are focused on something else.

Ohio State's recent Big Ten Championship Game history is promising, though.

The Buckeyes won the Big Ten last season and beat Wisconsin 59-0 in the championship game the year they won the national title.

Ohio State and Northwestern are set to kick off at 8 p.m. E.T. on Saturday. The game will be on FOX.
