Video: Jalin Marshall Says Ohio State's Coaches Tried To Get Him To Stay With Buckeyes For Another Season

Ohio State's football program had nine underclassmen declare for the NFL Draft following this past season.

Obviously, the Buckeyes' coaching staff would have liked for all nine of those players to stay in school. Many - Joey Bosa, Ezekiel Elliott, Cardale Jones - were foregone conclusions, though. Urban Meyer previously revealed that he expected at least six underclassmen to leave

The most-surprising decision was likely Jalin Marshall's. The Buckeyes' 5-foot-10, 200-pound redshirt sophomore could have returned to school and been the focal point of Ohio State's offense. He's not a first-round lock and could slip on draft day. Marshall opted to declare, though, following a season in which he totaled 477 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

At the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Marshall revealed that Urban Meyer and his coaching staff really tried to get him to stay in Columbus for another year.
