Ohio State's coaches and players spent pretty much all of Thursday preparing for their Sugar Bowl contest against Alabama. By the time the Buckeyes kicked off against the Crimson Tide, they likely weren't aware of which team had won the Rose Bowl.

Following Ohio State's 42-35 defeat of Alabama, Urban Meyer was made aware of Oregon's victory against Florida State, and the score of the game.

The Buckeyes' coach was pretty stunned when he learned how much the Ducks beat the Seminoles by.

Meyer and his Ohio State program now have to deal with a red-hot Oregon team, as the Buckeyes will face the Ducks in the national championship game Monday, Jan. 12.

The Buckeyes seem to be just fine playing the underdog role, though.
