Virginia Tech DC Bud Foster On Ohio State Matchup, "They'll Want To Score 100 Points On Us"

Scoreboard at Virginia Tech's Lane Stadium.

Ohio State's coaches and players won't admit it, but the Buckeyes will be seeking a little bit of revenge when they open their season Sept. 7 against Virginia Tech.

Urban Meyer's team, of course, won the national championship this past season, but it did lose a game in 2014. It was a game - a non-conference contest, at home, to an unranked opponent - that the Buckeyes almost never lose. On Sept. 6, 2014, OSU fell to Virginia Tech, 35-21.

The Buckeyes get another shot at the Hokies this upcoming fall, as they'll open their national championship-defending campaign in Blacksburg on Labor Day. Virginia Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster knows his team will be facing an offense trying to get some payback.

From a Q&A with The Roanoke Times:

AB: Do you spend the whole offseason wondering who Ohio State might use at quarterback?

BF: No, I mean, they’re going to run their offense. They ran it with the big kid, they ran their same offense they ran against us in September. The big thing they were able to do, nobody could stop their running back. That’s the one thing that we did was load the box and make them have to beat us throwing the football. But we’ll study them against particularly some looks that we gave them, to see if that’s something that we want to continue with or if we want to change some things up, but I don’t see them changing their offense. Regardless of who their quarterback is, they’ll want to score 100 points on us, I know that. They’ll want to beat us down. But we’ll be ready to play.

Ohio State probably won't score 100 points against Virginia Tech, but the Buckeyes could very easily reach 50.
